Wordless wednesday

Wordless wednesday.....

Nasi Lemak Matton

I was at Taiping recently and since the hotel I stayed does not provide any breakfast buffet, I drve myself around town. I stopped by at Petronas station to refuel and I saw people coming in and out at the next building nearby. When I passed by, I saw a Medan Selera.
Let's!

Located beside Petronas station Kamunting town, Nasi Lemak Matton seems to be famous!
It's my first time here and from outside, it looks isolated and all but I was wrong, people are already queing up for the Nasi Lemak.

A straight forward Nasi Lemak stall and even while queing up you can hear your own tummy. Man the smell of the rice really drools me.

People in front of me packed like 20 packs, 15 packs, 7 packs.. I was talking to myself. This must be really good.

When my turn come..
Mak Cik Nasi Lemak: Nasi Lemak nak berapa dik?
Me : Dua bungkus makan ye kak.

2 packs terus!

The 'administration' and 'production line' was quite fast and organised.
At one go, this makcik can pack 35 packs of Nasi Lemak.

It's simple but tasty!
One can never go wrong with a milky Nasi Lemak, cucumber cut, boild egg and sambal ikan bilis for only RM1.20 per pack.

My next trip to Taiping, I will definitely come back here!

Food Lunatic Verdict:
  • Halal
  • Highly recommended
  • 4/5
  • The sambal is quite sour'ish'
  • The rice is to die for. Even the smell makes you drool.

Curry Noodle & Mee Kicap in town

Located at Medan Selera Jalan Raja Muda Abdul Aziz, Kuala Lumpur.
(This medan selera is located at the side road from Kg Baru area near Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL))

The medan selera is quite huge and always full house. You need to look carefully for this 'gerai.
GERAI AH KOW

Just like any other normal Medan Selera, just order what ever you wanted to eat and find a place to seat. I don;t know how they do it but somehow, they will always find us with the correct order.
Way to go gerai people!

After they send your food, then only you should order your drinks.
Due to it's simplicity and speciality of interest, Gerai Ah Kow only serve you Curry Noodles, Soy Sauce Noodle (Mee Kicap) and Chicken Rice. Hence, there's no need of food menu.

But.........

There's drinks menu hanging at pillars around the gerai.

All drinks in the menu definitely suits the food menu.
My 3 visits here, my choice is still their Air Mata Kucing. Cooling and refreshing.

Here's how the small ball of meehoon curry looks like.
You can always request for extra sambal according to your liking.

This straight forward curry noodles is to die for!
They serve it with various type of foochok, fishball and tofu.

Price:
RM 4.50 for small bowl
RM 5.50 for big bowl
extra RM 1 for each topping requested (chicken slice, kerang etcs)

Location:
No 2, Medan Selera Jalan Raja Muda Andul Aziz, Kuala Lumpur

  • Halal
  • Highly recommended

Wordless Wednesday

Sharing my passion for the first time

Slaves of Food

Thick red blood veins bath in anger
The stomach grumbles in idiotic anger
A taste of food and out springs laughter
Triumphant moods commence again after

And it can be argued
We are all but slaves of food
Digesting away between interludes
Without food the mind is wholly screwed

We consume and wear different costumes
With food for thought and food of all sorts
We eat for the heart until it sets us apart
While the crumbs are often sought by rats

The pleasure one feels after a congested meal
That inner gratifying satisfaction is cheap but real
Toast, eggs and beans and it is work and work
Fruits, wine and cakes and it is talk and talk
Coffee or tea and eyes are conspicuously awake
A turkey roast and sleep is suspiciously at stake

We are all but slaves of food
I conclude with fluctuating moods
There is food for romance
There is food for the fools
Enjoy, eat fast, food never lasts, rewind and preview
Hungry mouths elsewhere regularly wait for its rescue
